Our History
On April 6, 1998, The Community Bank began its mission to provide the people of Southwest Kansas and the Panhandle of Oklahoma with exceptional customer service. The founders believed that a locally owned bank with community-focused decision-making would offer greater flexibility and service to our community.
The bank started in a 3,000-square-foot modular building, and in 2003, construction began on a new facility directly behind the original site. By May 2004, the new building was complete, serving as our new home. In July 2004, The Community Bank opened the South Motor Branch, offering additional teller access for our customers’ convenience.

The bank maintains a number of checking and savings accounts to suit your needs, including a suite of innovative Kasasa® accounts. If you are thinking about putting some money away for the future you may also want to consider a Certificate of Deposit (CD) or an Individual Retirement Account (IRA). Our Customer Service Representatives are prepared to help you find the right fit for your individual needs and goals.
The Community Bank's loan staff is also available to help meet your credit needs. The bank offers consumer loans, auto loans, Home Equity Lines of Credit (HELOC), construction loans, agricultural loans, and commercial loans. Our loan officers are ready to serve your needs.
Our bank also offers a wide range of traditional services such as cashiers checks, wire transfers, and safety deposit boxes.
